Discover the Joy of Rowing

If you’re new to rowing or have little experience, our Adult Learn to Row program is the perfect way to get started. Join us this summer and experience the thrill of being on the water while learning from USRowing-certified coaches in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

What to Expect

Our Learn to Row program focuses on sweep rowing, where each participant rows with one oar. Training for sculling, where each rower uses two oars, is offered to rowers in their second year and beyond. All equipment is provided—just bring your own personal flotation device (PFD)/life jacket. Please visit our Rowing Essentials page for guidance on appropriate rowing attire and tips for selecting a PFD suitable for rowing.

All coaches are USRowing Level II certified, ensuring a safe and educational experience. During the off-season, indoor erg training is also available.

Attendance & Progress

Rowing is a sport with a dramatically steep learning curve, so consistent attendance is essential. We want you to get the most out of each class, and because each class builds upon the previous one, we recommend attending at least 80% of all sessions for the best experience.

• Start Date: Sunday, June 28 – Foundations of Rowing & Check-In
• Class Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 30 – July 23
• Time: 5:30–7:00 PM
• Location: Founders Landing, Marquette (next to the Hampton Inn)

If the Learn to Row class for the 2026 season fills up, we will start a waitlist for the 2027 season.
