About U.P. Rowing

U.P. Rowing is a volunteer-run, non-profit rowing club dedicated to making the sport accessible to the Marquette, MI community since 2004. Our all-volunteer organization provides expert instruction, access to quality equipment, and a safe, supportive environment for both new and experienced rowers.

We offer programs for adults (18+) interested in sweep rowing and sculling, as well as a youth program for area high-school-aged students. Many of our youth rowers have continued on to collegiate teams and international competition, including the Summer World University Games.

The club also hosts an annual regatta or exhibition and supports local schools through rowing-machine outreach initiatives.

Our home water is the stunning shoreline of Lake Superior. From June to late October, we row on the lake; throughout the rest of the year, we train on indoor rowing machines in our clubhouse and stay active with other athletic and social events.

Rowing is a low-impact, full-body workout that welcomes all fitness levels. At U.P. Rowing, you’ll find a co-ed, multi-generational community built around fitness, teamwork, and the joy of being on the water.
